Website of the Month - May 2007

Monday, April 30th, 2007

It has been a great privilege to be the one selecting the Website of the Month on UK WW Forums this month.
Competition was tough and making a choice wasn’t easy.
After much consideration, and reviewing I made my choice.
The winner is:

Post Exchange Reloaded

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

Post Exchange programs are and excellent way to promote content within the forums of any new website, the problem is that it’s extremely rare for everyone to “give their all” when entering this type of program. The other problem is that link exchanges rarely ever set firm guidelines and the few existing rules are rarely, if ever, enforced.

What we are attempting to do here is structure an easy to follow program guide on UKWMW Post Exchange Program. I also intend to structure this program as a bit of a directory service so you can see a short description of the site your most interested in and exchange posts with that webmaster.

UKWMW Post Exchange Program (proposed):

– Option 1: Tier 1 membership—> A group member who is willing to add a minimum of 10 posts to a forum/forums of his/her choosing. – Option 2: Tier 2 membership—> A group member who is willing to add a minimum of 20 posts to a forum/forums of his/her choosing. – Option 3: Tier 3 membership—> A group member who is willing to add 25 + posts to a forum/forums of his/her choosing.

Dot net dot UK domain name to be made available to the public?

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

Nominet UK Logo
Nominet UK the body responsible for .uk domain name space has issued a consultation document (nominet.org.uk/policy/consultations/netuk/)asking its member and other ‘stake holders’ to comment on the possibilities of changing the use of the .net.uk domain name extension which at present is strictly issued to Internet Service Providers only, there is also quite a number paper work Internet Service Providers service providers need to provide before the an be issued with a .net.uk domains.

The awkward requirement make most Internet Service Providers shun this domain extension in favour of easier to register domain extension .co.uk . I predict overwhelming majority of members and stake holders will favour extending the use of .net.uk to non Internet Service Providers and the silly prerequisite for registering the domain should also be done away with to me .net.uk more popular.
