Thanks for the reply. I have checked the config file again and as I thought mod_rewrite is indeed enabled. It's a puzzler.

I have just noticed that at the admin login screen, the browser is showing the title as 'BossCart v0.05 demo' although the shopfront is reading as v1.0. Is this just a coding error or is this significant? it was definately the V1.0 archive that I installed.

Thanks for the info on the error. Unfortunately it doesn't resolve the problem.

I'm going to try to install it on another server and see if I can get it to work there to see if it is a problem with this machine.

Just to let you know that I have tried two other servers now and for one reason or another just cannot get it to work properly.

Decided to use Joomla and VirtueCart.
