    Default Email Settings JV

    Hi
I have managed to install JV o.k., but on trying a test purchase on my only current product through Paypal, the emails don't seem to work when trying to checkout. Can anyone advise me of all the email settings i should use and if there is an easier way of testing them ?
    Cheers.

Hi Andy, which email does not work, the one you set in the paypal configuration page. Please, let me know more details to understand the problem.
    Thanks

Hi Bagi, i see you are the guru, thanks for being so quick.
Its not a Paypal issue, at least not yet. The problem is that i don't think my mail settings are correct. When i do the test purchase, i put in my name, address etc and it says you have been emailed your account details. Nothing arrives though. This is the only way i can think of testing my mail settings. Hope you can help.
    Thanks.

Hi Andy, pleaseset your email address instead of mine for the administrator user in the user management, that will solve this issue.
    Thanks

    Hi Bagi.
I have changed that, but still no luck.
I am not sure which settings to use in the configuration.php (global settings) on the mail section. I have tried a few different settings and the best i can get is some mailer deamon reply from my web host.
Have you any more ides ?
    Thanks.
    Andy.

Did you try the smtp mailer in the general configuration? It is possible that the php mail function is disabled though it is very rare.
    Thanks

    Hi Bagi.
I think i got the reply from my webserver, saying something like 'unknown recipient, email@email.com' ,when using PHP mail. I have just contacted my host for any applicable mail settings and will have another go.
    Thanks.
    Andy.
