I love WordPress. And even thought there are updates happen quite
frequently to the core, for which we should update our sites, I totally love
the open source enviroment it belongs to.
Anyway, with WordPress 2.5 coming out, there is one change to the admin
options I'd like to mention. When dealing with the widgets panel, as of the
current release (unless you're testing with the latest trunk build), you can
simply drag and drop a widget from one sidebar to the other (if your theme
supplies it).
But with 2.5, that interface will go away, in favor of option boxes and such.
How many of you use widgets anyway?

Do you have a link to preview of 2.5? I use a few widgets on my WP blog.

Beginning of March is the release of 2.5It was announced today that what was to be the next new version of WordPress, 2.4 - which was scheduled for a January 24 release has now been abandoned and replaced with version 2.5 and is now scheduled for an early March release.
Due to such major changes in the code base, and in the administration panel, the WordPress team chose not to rush things and opted, instead, to allow for more time for a quality release. Let’s hope this means not quite so many updates so soon after the initial release (i.e. 2.5.1, 2.5.2, etc, etc).![]()
