Default Japan: Sayonara, Windows! Konichiwa, Linux!

What happened to Microsoft in Massachusetts, whose officials haven’t been convinced by the Redmond giant to wait quietly for Office 12, a product promised to be more “friendly” with the Office suite with the Open XML standard, will be a puny earthquake compared to the tsunami prepared by Japan!

AP informs that the Japanese officials have started to ponder upon the introduction of Linux on governmental PCs, in order to break free from Microsoft and its Windows operating system.

    One

of the Internal Affairs and Communications ministry officials, cited by AP, said that the Open Source software should be regarded as an “important option” for the governmental acquisition policy.

Does anybody else saw that MS is seriously loosing ground in their battle with Linux?

Soon there will be Linux in schools and will happen the same way which Windows became so used.

MS sure is loosing ground.. just check this website: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/precn_n?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd

It's very understandable, MS is not innovating anymore. They are too busy handling patents and mainting the products they made. The MS investors main priority is getting the new windows launched, so at all cost thats what ms is doing, creating another windows with countless updates.
