I really like Jabber, even though is not (yet) as common and widely used as the other major players in this area... but has far more potential than any of them. I totally dislike ICQ 'cause it has very ugly smileys ))

Yup, Trillian is very nice. Or at least that's how I remember it from almost 2 years ago when I used it.... Too bad they don't make a Linux version as well...

Now I use Gaim (http://gaim.sf.net) which is a multi-protocol capable IM client. It has support for AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, GroupWise Messenger, and Zephyr networks.
