    OVI,

Have you been downloading free music, files, etc?

Try running spyboy search and destroy.

    copule of things

    Spybot finds scumware
    Adaware finds scumware

Hijackthis will check and remove browser hijackers

IE Restrictions will set your browser so that any attempted alterations to its settings will cause a 'do you wish to proceed?' promt. effectively preventing the browser hijacking.

If your infected with Lop then you have your hands full. it can be sorted but is a PITA.

Good luck, i would try hijack this first.

    OWG,

I have noticed, "Lop" in my traffic logs, meaning visitors are coming to my site through this junk.

    What is, "Lop"?

    Thanks in advance

Smeagain, you are soooooooo right about this.
Lop is the scum of the universe, and worse still it is British

Hijack this is the mutts nutts, as is IE Restrictions. it physically prevents anything altering internet explorer settings, including homepage, adding to favourites etc by any third party.

    Holy :!:

I went to some of their urls. They were all portal looking sites. I entered some of the keywords I bid on at various PPC search engines... poof! There I am.

The pay per click search engines being used were 7search.com and GoClick.com

OK, gotta run. I've got a few phone calls to make. chased

Sometimes you can't remove without drastic action such as disabling "Restore Points" thus losing them and some you even have to take surgical action in "Safe Mode" to stop the beast recycling.

I have even heard of going into DOS to mandraulicaly delete.

I keep a copy of Knoppix that allows me to do just about anything DOD can do but with a GUI. Free open sorce as well.
