There are a few TLD's that give out free TLD's like .TK but most of the others you have to pay for so why would people then give them out for free?

Other than the odd competition you'll not be getting .com's and the like for free.

If anything is free in this world then it's usually free for a reason. I haven't heard of free domains before but as stated by everyone else, buy a .com or a local domain name (.co.uk, .in, etc).

It could be a good investment too if you pick one with a niche keyword in it.

There are free domains but there are lots of catches that you realise after some time when you start receiving credit. Nothing is free, when it comes to website domains and hosting. Yes, some or the other way you pay one day.

Free domains do not even exist any more I believe, I would take the advice from everyone above on just paying for a .com ect ect, there are plenty of registers to choose from all who are pretty competitive on pricing... i think so no free lunch
