agreed, it's to bad that companies have felt compelled to do that in the past. Even though it would have meant losses, it still encourages these hackers to continue on with this sort of behavior.

No wonder so many sites go down because of hackers if it costs this much to keep them away! Its to easy for hackers and Terrorists to cause problems ..there must be a better soloution ...It has not been a cheap option for Nochex. In fact, with an initial cost of £20,000 and a further £3,000 a month, it would have been cheaper to pay off the hijackers.
