An Alibaba deal would end Yahoo's independent China operations
Yahoo is reportedly close to acquiring a major stake in China's biggest e-commerce firm, Alibaba.com.
The US internet giant is in talks to buy 35% of Alibaba for $1bn (£557m), according to several reports.
If successful, the deal would mark the largest investment yet by a foreign firm in China's technology market.
A deal between the two would also challenge the Chinese operations of US online auction giant eBay. Alibaba offers similar auction site services.

Do you noticed this enormous tendence to buy some Chinese firms?
Everybody is doing it: Yahoo, Google etc., all the major names in the business.
They realy want to do something or just buying up the competition?
I don't understand. China is a communist nation. They have nukes and have threatened to use them against Tiawan. OK, this is getting a little too political.
