I heard a funny one last week. Trader talking about losses. He says,

"I think our problem was over confidence.........but we'll be alright."

But no one can beat Bush's "They never stop coming up with new ways to harm our country, and neither do we."

Bush was more correct than he realised. At the precise moment he was saying this the bankers at Bear Stearns were busy coming up with new ways of securitisation - CDOs that would eventually almost single handedly destroy the strength of the US economy.
