    Default Speed issues :(

    Hello,

Whilst I believe this is a great community I dislike the speed, speed is a very important factor and I believe this community could use some moving to a better host perhaps?

Forum especially loads slow when you try and reply with a long reply, or when you use "heavier resources" than browsing etc. I hope you all take this into consideration, I'm sure you will

    Regards,
    Meti

Hey Meti, it is quicker than it was. The guys here always take everything on board.

Also, good to see you here.

I've had no such complaints, and I'm on 512kbs.

I'm on a very fast connection, I'm on a 24 Mbps connection and I wish it was abit faster than the usual speed, though it seems to be fast at some times and slower at some time.

It works great at the moment, however it used to be quite slow a few hours ago.

I would advise to check the CPU/RAM usage, and or stop/disable any unneccesary applications

I'm running 20MB broadband, and (so) I have not suffered any slowness or what-have-you.

Temi, what are you running your forum on? Not s/w, but the web host specs, if you don't mind?

    Martin,
Its on a reseller account with a company called Heart Internet. I found lots of good hosting deals in US, sadly, we do not have that many affordable hosting in UK and I want to keep the hosting in UK for SEO reasons. I contacted Rackspace, they want an arm and a leg for a managed dedicated server

I also want it on a RAID server, I have had bad experience in the past with host that host the site on a single server......

Well, if anyone knows of an affordable reliabel UK host, I am in the market to move this site over

You can always consider VPS servers, I know a company based in the UK offering really good VPS plans with 24x7 livechat.
