I believe the year of introduction is to be 2006. The big news as far as Longhorn is concerned is that it will have an integrated desktop search. No prizes for guessing which search engine that will employ.

I never did buy XP Pro, I ended up with XP Home because there was no wasy I was going to pay zillions of dollars for Pro.

Is Longhorn going to be the same way and offer a full version and a watered down version for cheapskates like me. Although I use XP Pro at work and XP Home at home and can't really tell you the difference between the two.

Yep, that seems to be the marketing strategy for msn, imho. Start making significant inroads into the search market with IE7 and then the killer blow with Longhorn.

Well, fingers crossed, drawing a good marketing strategy and what they encounter in the market place are two different things, lets see if the plan will work.
I personal think it will be good if Google/Yahoo duopoly is broken, it was even worst when Yahoo used to use Google results.
