Goodbye Longhorn, hello Windows Vista. Although the news leaked out last night, Microsoft officially announced it just a few minutes ago. In addition to the name change, we now have a confirmation that Beta 1 of the new operating system will be here by August 3rd. The announcement was made yesterday afternoon to 10,000 Microsoft sales and service employees(therefore explaining the leak), and announced earlier today via a video on the Microsoft website.
