Hi,
I am going to create a website about collection of names. I have collected name of different type through some resources but so many name in to these names are already in some website. I want to know is it contradictory to copy right act or Google look like this copy of content.

No, Google doesn't like when you copy content... but it probably won't notice when it comes to something like names (as oppose to copying say full articles)

Google will not penalize you when you put Names of people or places as a content of your post. That is acceptable. Just do not copy and paste the same set of list from the first to the last character..

i think copy content always down your site ranking so always use fresh and unique content....
