yes there is some sort of pr update. normally we get the backlink update then a pr update. this is a little different.

You are quite right melky, there has been backlinks update. This forum had no backlinks since it was moved from its original location, it now has a few.

Luqman, what makes you suggest PR5 ? I asked because Mihai suggested that this forum will be PR5 at the next PR update, I just want to know what makes you two suggest the same PR.

Most of the contributers to the thread saying its not pr update , but the back link update.

I came to know in dp and from my friend they experinced some pr change.

Does it mean that the back link update coused them to experience the PR? If so why not all sites experiencing the same.?

I believe the backlinks update for not a small portion of sites.

FISTLY Understand that there are two types of PR. Client facing and server side. We will never know the server side PR that Google uses in its calculations, as it is purely for Google. This is TRUE Pagerank as it is in everflux (it is constantly changing as the datacentres add and remove pages from the index)

Next we have toolbar Pr. This is a silly snapshot in time taken normally after a backlink update has happened.

So technically you can say that Bl first, then PR, as this is how it works constantly and during the visual update.

For the record I should state that backlinks NOR pagerank is actually being updated, they are simply being exported from the server side, to the public side. BOTH are updated instantly via everflux.

Q: why not all sites are the same?

A: Because google uses everflux, and it takes a couple of days to propagate around all of their datacentres. different dat acentres will give different results as they are out of synch.

Remember that last time the export began on January 9, and didn't finalize until January 25, so it can take some time. Over 2 weeks on the last export. So far, I'm not seeing any PR changes, but the backlinks have definitely began moving.
