The Google Keyword Tool has replaced the Green Bar Indicator displayed in the competition column of the results with a text label of ‘High’, ‘Medium’ and ‘Low’.

Visually, it is going to look different. Technically, however, it hardly makes a difference. Users do not lose much information. Greg Finn at Search Engine Land notes that one can still download results, ones showing the metric of competition based on a scale measuring from 0.0 to 1.0 in digits. You can get very specific with the export file.

Greg was able to determine all three scales, high, medium and low.

The low competitiveness number comes under .33, medium competitiveness number falling between .33 and .66 and the high competitiveness number ranging over .67.
