I think Godaddy support are the best one to answer that question, anyone else use Godaddy for hosting who can help provide an answer ?

It will not hurt the SEo at all if it is a new domain, but it is NOT the way to go as it will mean it will be rejected from loads of directories. I run a headers check cron job on my directories, and if they pick up ANY redirect the page is flagged and removed!

Bait and switch is a tactic black hatters use, so not good. The simple answer is move from Go-daddy.

    BUT

Why do you want a domain to point at a folder other than root? The folder where you are pointing will simply become the root for the domain? What are you trying to gain?
