Default How do you tell between a debate and arguement

    Hi

How would you tell whether members are debating on a forum or having an arguement?

    Thanks

A debate is a connected series of statements presented in such a way as to get the other person to accept your point of view. An argument tends to be more aggressive, with tboth parties not really wanting to convince the other person to change their mind, it tends to become personal and have put downs in it like 'what do you know about it anyhow' or the likes.

"A debate becomes an arguement when you talk about your opponant's mother".

Can't remember who says it, but it's always made me trouble.

If you argue, it is debate in your mind and the other side think it it not.

I can't answer this, as I never have debates or arguments...why? Because I'm always right
