Hi
Do contests attract you to a forum? What would you like to see in a contest which would make you register on a forum to participate?
Would any of these attract you to a forum or would you like something else?
- Cash
- Domain names and Hosting
- Links
- Banner Ads
Thanks

The problem is Piet, to attract serious posters here. Large part of our members only shows up to advertise another directory or Wordpress theme...
I think contests and competitions are a great way to build community.
Advanced CMS software with directory, blog, classifieds and portal features
I'd enter a contest if the prize was another great site w/domain from Temi![]()
Offering money would be a great incentive to many. Especially as the £££ is so strong against many currencies.
Also, banner ads could be very enticing as long as it is on a high traffic website.
It depends though - if it encourages regular members to be more helpful, then it's a good thing. If it makes people focus on the prize, and new members join to just do that, then it's not a good thing.
Money is the right prize everywhere in my opinion...
I think the best price would be cash, but sometimes offering products related to your niche, lets take a SEO forum for example, offering SE courses and further things that sometimes may be more useful than cash. Cash can be spent easily, knowledge doesn't disappear like that

Knowlege disappears if you do not practice what you have learnedBut some SEO courses would be temptant indeed
