I have a travel related website and I rank on the first page for Google - although somewhere in the middle of the page, not first of first...

Anyway, I have made ZERO commissions so far and the keyword I rank for is a "to buy" keyword.

Does anyone know if a sale is more likely to happen from a banner? or from an in-text link?

I just don't know how to go about with writing more helpful articles for the site...
