I dont think it does its too easy to manipulate
I am just wondering if google takes into account web site traffic when ranking web sites?
It looks at lot of things like title, backlinks, content etc.
Google never ranks site on the basis of traffic.
thanks all for the clearifications
It's all about site popularity for Google, right? That's why traffic does not count.

It depends on, no of backlinks, content of the page, design of the page, navigation buttons used in the page etc.

It depend on no. of backlinks but it Google also consider the age of the domian name.
Click through rates from Google's results pages are taken into consideration though. So in that way, indirectly at least, traffic does affect your SERPs
unlikely but not impossible. Gooogle has alot of analytics and web toolbar data that it could use if i wanted.
