I don't think so. Directory submission is of great importance to SEO, without it there wouldn't be backlinks to help promote sites.

No I don agree that the submission in directories are of no use. If this is true, then I would say that submissions to anywhere is of no use.

The only thing I know is that if you have a good backlink partner then you are benefitted. If your backlink partner is now good then you will have its benefit later on in coming months or in coming years.

If you really want to have results from backlinks then try to submit to the directories which seems to be good. Good in the sense, there is a good traffic on that, the directory is not declared as spam, the directory dont have any porn concepts, the directory seems to be professional directory, the directory is well established on the internet, the directory have some page ranks.

Still there are lots more things to be kept in mind. This is not only for directories but for all backlink partners so that you can have results.

1. the backlink partener should be having the same profile as u have.
2. if you want to promote website for particular region/country, so your backlink partener should be so that they belongs to the same region/country. For eg. if you are promoting website for google.co.uk, then try to have your backlink partener from uk itself. Else if you have your backlink partner from us, india, asia, brazil then you will be getting late results on google.co.uk

it,s have the importance if it have good pagerank value say more then pr3. And check that it should have not more then 50 outbound link. if more then 50 then it,s not worth.

Directory submissions still has use too though it takes a while before you can get back links compared to other link building techniques..

hi brad, if you do a directory submission then you must need to check where you submit your website that means that please submit your website with relevant category. and If you could do paid web directory submission then this will be very great for you website.

IMO. Any free IBLs are good.

Yes i am also listening alot about directory submissions. I think relevant to your business may help you but Paid submissions are being banned by Google.
Small directories like theaviationdir.com may have benefits from free submissions.
