what about this site makes it rank no:1
Hi
Can anyone explain to me how a certain site gets number one rank for a certain keyphrase based on this:
It only has 4 inbound links (non of which are related to the keyphrase)
The meta part of the site doesn't seem to be especially optimised.
The content of the site doesn't include the keyphrase once.
Is there something I'm missing?

It all depends on many factors. It is probably the fact that, that terms is easy to rank for.

What is the URL and the keyword you are talking about ?
A possible reason is that it is a new site. Often new sites rank high in the beginning and after a while they drop in SERPS.
Of cource this is a possibility, without more info we can not tell.

Choose a proper keyword for your page, create back links and do link building. It will really help.

The site structure makes a difference, also the four inbound links might be very good links. There may be other inbound links that you cannot detect, what are you using to check this?
