couple more suggestions for this project
1, making sure that:
/admin/image
/admin/product_images
/admin/category_images
/admin/brand_logos
/admin/templates
/admin/auth.php
/admin/auth.php3
/admin/tmp
/admin/session_variables.php
/admin/session_variables.php3
/admin/class.cacheFastTemplate.php
/admin/class.cacheFastTemplate.php3
/admin/class.FastTemplate.php
/admin/class.FastTemplate.php3
arent in the install archive as this causes problems with makes_symlink.php on the creation process
2, mentioning in the install.txt or in the auth.php* files to makesure no extra spacing/lines at the end of the codeline to avoid confusion as this also is knowin to have problems for first time installers.

Thank you for your suggestion, I will add this to the documentation of the next release which is due out in a few weeks.

Default Item Switches...
On mine anyway whenever you click on a product in the Admin it un-sets the switches for Active, New Item to off. It had me going for a bit when I viewed and item to change the picture then saved. It took off the Active switch and I couldn't see it anymore on the store side.
