It is hoped the system will revolutionise teaching
Scotland's 800,000 teachers and pupils are to be linked by one of the world's first schools intranet systems.
The Scottish Executive has announced a £37.5m contract to develop the system, which should be online by early 2007.

England has the same thing but in more regional application at the moment (such as the SWGfL - south west grid for learning).
Search google for "BSF - building schools for the future", that is the whole kit and kapbudle for england, every school and educational institution in one big network. We are involved in that as well.
