Free forum script or paid one?

I like punbb. It's lightweight, and can be easily customized to integrate in a portal.

I personally use MyBB and so far it has been great. Id say if your forum contains low amount of users- i.e. less than 5,000 than a quality free one is ok, but if users grow than id go for a paid one like VB.
