I personally wouldn't bother with advertising unless it was for an e-commerce site. For a site that's just content and getting its income from banners/affiliate links you'd have to be pretty careful with your targetting to make sure you are making more per visitor than they are costing you.

While we're on the subject of SEO, the first post on the thread looks like duplicate content, which probably doesn't do UKWW any favours.

I believe that PPC and SEO focus on different aspects. They are two completely different concepts, that can help send targeted traffic to your website.
If you are looking to promote a online sales site, PPC is for web search workshop. It is more profitable and should be good enough. However, if you are looking to promote the overall image of online presence of your site, SEO is more important. But SEO is focusing on long-term reputation building.

I think both organic seo and pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns have their respective places of importance. PPC (Pay Per Click) is like purchasing visitors or “clicks” from a search engine, this is called “pay-per-click” (PPC) search engine advertising (or PPCSE). Its an easy and quick way to get top on listing. Let’s first quickly see what organic seo and pay-per-click mean.
    What is Organic SEO?
“Organic” or “Natural” search engine optimization (SEO) is accomplished by optimizing your web pages and by increasing your “link popularity”. Organic SEO also known as natural SEO fetches you higher search engine rankings without paying for the placement. “Organic” or “Natural” search engine optimization (SEO). Generally speaking, organic SEO consists of optimizing your web pages to enhance their position in the naturally occurring search results.s Natural search engine optimization usually gives you a much higher return on investment than pay per click because maximum number of users click only on non sponsered links.
Organic SEO takes lots of effort and it often takes months to show some tangible results. You can achieve natural SEO by

All these points have been covered in detail in various posts on this blog.
    What is Pay-per-click?
Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Advertising allows you to quickly get top search engine placement by “bidding” (paying) for keywords related to your product or service. The biggest benefit of pay per click is the fact that it will provide you with an immediate boost of qualified visitors, lead and sales giving you fast results within just hours or days.
Pay-per-click programs get you visibility on the search engines according to the bid you are ready to place per click. By using PPC you can start getting quality clicks from the search engines within fifteen minutes of activating your website.
What to use - SEO or PPC?
It’s a question most, if not all; businesses will eventually have to ask themselves in the course of developing their Internet marketing strategies. Which alternative offers the best return on investment? Which one is more easily managed?
It should be a mixture of both the methods. As a short term strategy pay per click gives you the clear advantage over SEO. It’s better to use your PPC campaign in the beginning so that your online presence gets relevant traffic from day one. But, the disadvantage is the cost involved. You should target the least competitive expressions and start getting traffic for them. In the mean time you can continue your organic SEO efforts. When you feel you are getting good traffic due to organic SEO, you can stop bidding for your keywords.

Thanks for sharing all of the things very clearly.

Organic positions have been losing value over the past few years as Google signs up more and more people to Adwords. Now if you have a No1 position in the organic listing for a popular keyword then there is generally several sponsored links and a whole long list of Google Local Search results above your No1 organic position.

This is de-valueing organic positions and Google knows this. The more important sponsored links become the more money Google will make. Conversely, the less people that follow organic links the more money Google will make.

Expect this trend to continue and eventually I wouldn't be surprised to see almost a whole page of sponsored links on Google's SERPs with very few organic listings stuck down on the bottom of the page where no one ever sees them.
